Android Operating System and Security Developer

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Operating System and Security Developer with a strong background in Android development, mobile application security, and automation testing. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Android OS development, security implementation, and cross-platform application development. This role requires expertise in computer programming, mobile application testing, build automation, API integration, and version control management. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing Android applications while managing upgrades, deployments, and security compliance.

Responsibilities

Android OS Development & Security: Design, develop, and implement secure features for Android applications and the operating system to protect user data and ensure compliance with security standards.
Mobile Application Development & Testing: Develop and test Android applications using best practices in Kotlin, Java, or C++, ensuring high performance and security. Conduct functional, performance, and security testing on Android devices.
Build Automation & Deployment: Develop and maintain automated build and deployment pipelines, utilizing GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar tools.
Cross-Platform Development: Work on Android applications that integrate with iOS and other platforms, ensuring seamless cross-platform functionality.
User Interface (UI) & API Integration: Develop and optimize user interfaces (UI) and integrate APIs to enhance functionality, performance, and security.
Version Control & Upgrade Management: Manage version control (GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket) and oversee application upgrades, patches, and security fixes.
Device Testing & Debugging: Conduct extensive testing on multiple Android devices and ensure compatibility across various hardware and software configurations.
Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, including encryption, authentication, secure coding standards (OWASP), and vulnerability assessments.
Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers, and security teams. Maintain technical documentation and best practices.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Android development and security.
Programming Skills: Expertise in Kotlin, Java, C++, and Python for Android application and OS development.
Android Frameworks & Tools: Experience with Android SDK, NDK, Jetpack, Firebase, and Play Store deployment.
Build & Deployment: Proficiency in Gradle, Maven, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and related automation tools.
Testing & Debugging: Strong experience with Android testing frameworks (Espresso, JUnit, UI Automator) and debugging tools (ADB, Logcat).
Version Control: Expertise in GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, and managing branching strategies.
Security & Compliance: Knowledge of Android security models, encryption techniques, authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT), and OWASP security best practices.
API Integration & UI Development: Experience in RESTful API integration, UI/UX development, and cross-platform frameworks like Flutter, React Native, or Xamarin (preferred).
Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze, debug, and optimize application performance while ensuring security and stability.
